John's early introduction to horses and his love for them is very evident in each of the pieces that he creates and also in the story that goes along with each one. Not only has he done limited edition pieces, he has also created commissioned pieces that include trophies for organizations such as the Professional Horseman's Association and the National Reining Horse Association.

He has been recognized with a number of awards from galleries and juried shows in the area and has had numerous articles written about him in a number of well known equine magazines, journals and also in local papers.
